I'm a 34 year-old short blonde chick with a PhD in microbiology.
What am I supposed to do with that, I wonder?
Nothing. At least, not with the microbiology part. I've taken my PhD and my molecular genetics expertise out of the academic arena and into the wonderful world of industry and the start-up company. Every day, though, I spend some time plotting my escape to early retirement and stay-at-home motherhood. Or at least independent freelancerhood.
I'm in love with a man named Jeffrey, and we were married in October of 2006. We were joined on March 26, 2007 by our beautiful baby boy, Samuel Patrick and by another beautiful son, Dixon Louis, on October 14, 2008. Our third son, Liam Reid, arrived on his daddy's birthday, on December 18, 2010.
It's been a wild ride, and the adventure has just begun.

Samuel nursed for 14 months.
