Don't tell anybody, but I've been taking a new medicine to prevent my migraines. I started taking it on the 7th. I haven't had a migraine in just over a week.

Whoa, dudes.

*crosses fingers* I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

So my current keep-away arsenal includes Botox (due for another round on 10/1), avoiding ovulation (taking the pill for three packs straight, then taking an "off" week), and Cymbalta (an SSRI).

I haven't upped the Cymbalta dose yet (that happens on Wednesday), but the only side-effects I've noticed are that I sweat more, I've lost a little weight, and my appetite isn't what it used to be. No nausea yet and so far, my libido's intact - those are the side effects I'm most worried about :)

In other news. . . not much. Jeff's getting stuck with a lot of closing shifts, and he's not getting any weekend days. So we have partial days together on his days off (when I get home from work) and on my days off (before he goes to work). It sucks for my part, because I miss him and I get really bored without him. It sucks for his part, because the store he's working in is filled with fumducks.

I'm making good progress in my own work, though, so that's good. I still don't understand the system very well; it's an alphabet soup of proteins and I haven't yet got a handle on who does what and when. It would really help to understand this stuff, especially since I just got some meaningful data but I don't know what it means! O_o

Also, I seem to have sprung up some allergies. All weekend, I barely slept because of this gawdawful sinus pressure and congestion. Oh, and the sneezing. Just call me Sneezy. All my allergy drugs are past-date and I'm terribly afraid of going to the drug store to get more. I just know I'll pitch a hissy fit if I have to sign over my first-born children to get a measly box of Sudafed.

And finally, I make delicious fried eggplant and homemade tomato sauce. Romas, golden cherries, garlic and EVOO, and a sprinkling of Italian seasonings. OMG so good. Next time we have a chance, we're going to stock up on tomaters and I'm going to jar up some sauce :) I'm always so proud of myself when I create something yummy.

YES! Somebody picked up it :)

Actually, I haven't watched her in a while, but I like her, and I like the EVOO.

Yeah, I like her, too. She has a couple of good shows on.

I'm coming over next time you make fried eggplant in tomato sauce. Eggplant makes my tongue itch (wierd, huh? Pineapple too) but it's WORTH IT. That sounds so, so good!

I was shocked at how well the sauce turned out. It seems my best cooking happens when I don't think too much. You're welcome any time!
