This and That

bronwynrhI've signed up to be a judge at the Eastern Iowa Science Fair. It's in Cedar Rapids, so I get to enjoy a little day trip. And I get to go to the Lindale Mall, which I have yet to visit. It doesn't have an Ann Taylor store, so I doubt I'll be too tempted. There is, however, a Michael's across the street, and Bed Bath & Beyond, and PetsMart. Danger!

The yarn I ordered, oh, 10 days ago, should arrive today. I can finally finish the afghan that grandma started 30 some-odd years ago. I ordered a load of yarn to get started on the log cabin afghan. The test square I made last weekend felt great, but the colors needed a little more pop - hence the second yarn order. When the granny squares afghan is done, I'll play show-and-tell. . . and I'll get your opinion on the log cabin, too.
I'm plugging away in the lab, trying to get the data I need. I want to get a paper out - even if it's a small one - and then high-tail it out of here. With luck, I'll have a job waiting for me when my contract here is up. I have no intention of staying in this ridiculous place any longer than absolutely necessary.
Tonya, I'm not behaving very well with the exercise. I suck. Today, I've committed to taking the stairs. This is somewhat worthwhile, since I work on the 5th floor.
