Well, wasn't that fun?

I just got back home from the hospital. Yes, the hospital.

I'm sure most of y'all aren't interested in the gory details, so I'll spare you that and just say that there was blood and a little worry. I've been checked out, the baby has been monitored and sonogrammed, and we're all ok. I'm having a bunch of contractions now, but that's because I was looked at so. . . closely.

Adventures in pending motherhood!

On the fantabulous upside, we had that sonogram, and they even captured his face with the 3D thingie. SamPatrick has my nose. *grin* Jeff says we'll see - that maybe it only looked like my nose because the baby was squooshing his face against the wall. I still say he looks like me. The doctor called him "Moose", after finding that he weighs 3 lb 12 oz. Baby has been put on notice: he is allowed to double in size, but no more. I will have no mooses. No, sir.

I'll upload pictures tomorrow, when I have the scanner.

I was about 10 lbs when I was born!

And my face was definitely smooshed when I was in utero. My ENT specialist speculates that it contributed to my deviated septum. Must have been *very* uncomfortable for my poor mother!

O dear god, no. I was 7 lbs 13 ozs, I think (if I'm wrong, mom'll pop in and correct me). They say that babys tend to follow their mommas in size. So maybe I'll get lucky.

Oof. I couldn't believe how inflated I felt, but I though he only weighed 2 1/2 lbs or so. Now that I know how big he is, I can understand why I feel the way I do.

Awwwwwwbaby! I'm going to pop in on your side of the argument. The sonogram for my niece showed that she definitely had her mama's nose... and Alison most definitely does!

You know what? I'm blown away that he has to cook more. After seeing those pudgy cheeks, it's hard to believe that he's not ready right now.

I know better, obviously, but still.

I'm hoping to do this drug-free, hence my wish for a reasonably sized child. In my dreams, my labor is easy, too. I hope that's more premonition than wishful thinking!

I was a 6lb and something baby ... Emily was 8 lbs 7 oz and Jake was 9 lbs 12 oz. (Talk about a moose ...) Can't wait to see the picture!

Funny you should mention that. I've been listening to Simon & Garfunkel (and just Simon) for several weeks now, during my commute. I sing for two reasons: to serenade the bebe, and to keep my temper in check :)

Well, yeah, They don't know jack. But on the other hand, as was the fashion in the early 70s, my mother smoked while pregnant with me. So it's entirely possible I was meant to be a monstro-baby too.

Thanks, I'm hoping it turns out to be a good thing, but worst case it's a bad thing that I do for a short time and get paid more for.
