Holy moly!

It's COLD out there today! When I got to work this morning, it was only 27F. My car was frosty. Hell, I'M frosty-cold now. The heat in the lab is under a bench - so all the heat just soaks into the soapstone bench top and curls up underneath. None of the heat seems to make it into the rest of the lab space.

As usual, I'm wearing my hoodie and trying to wake up my blue, numbed hands.

I have been busy this morning, though, and moving around helped a bit.

On my way to work this morning I tried to make a deposit at the ATM near my house only to find that the machine was "temporarily out of service". Blast! This means I need to brave the cold to walk all the way over to the ATM two blocks off campus on the west side. I might as well make a stop at the evil empire Starbucks for some hot chocolate while I'm over there. Do they have their holiday blends out yet? Mmmmm peppermint mocha *drool*

I'll probably pick up lunch, too, to save myself from having to eat a Campbell's soup cup. I've got no business spending money on food right now, as I have mongo-big credit bills due after my trip to Victoria. It's so weird to have an appetite again. Now I have to be super-careful to make sure I don't gain weight. I've already gained 3 pounds in the last month. No more yo-yo-ing!!

Meh. Most boring post in bramey history, perhaps?

Oh well. I'm just waiting for tomorrow to find out if I'm going up to W. Lafayette on Sunday evening. We hope to start the experiment Monday, then I'll putz around on Tuesday, and finish up the experiment all day Wednesday. Of course, if something goes wrong and we need to postpone, I'll be trying to get it done M-W of Thanksgiving week, when I was planning to be in Louisville by Tuesday night. Suck. *cross fingers*

This also means I need to ask someone to watch my cats AGAIN. Dave, do you have laundry to do?

November is just too crazy this year.

Grrrr

I hate living in Indiana. I hate it for many reasons, but now I have one more.

The car I want apparently doesn't EXIST in this frickin' state. No no, I'd have to drive more than 200 miles in most cases to find the car I want. As in, to CHICAGO. Hell, I only found 2 within 100 miles of Louisville, KY for chrissakes.

*fume*

I tried Houston too - no luck. So maybe everyone loves their 2001 and 2002 Volvo S60s SO MUCH that none of them are willing to part with them.

The people who are willing to give up their S60s apparently all live in the Chicago area.

Dammit.
