RETREAT!!!

I'm heading out this afternoon to a place called Spring Mill. It's a resort of sorts about an hour south of town where the Indiana Branch of the American Society of Microbiology (IBASM) is holding its annual meeting.

What that means is that we'll have a speaker tonight after dinner (he works on a venereal disease and I hear he uses really graphic images. I'll let you know.) followed by social hour. Tomorrow we have breakfast at 8 and a poster session from 9-10:30. Then there's poster judging. . . maybe a speaker before lunch and then we have the entire afternoon free. Then it's dinner, an award ceremony. . . maybe that's when we have the second speaker, another social hour, and that's it. The meeting actually goes until the following morning, but most of us are coming home late Saturday night.

Basically, we're going to go to drink, hike, lounge, laze chat science, stand by our posters and that's it. Cool, huh?

It's disruptive, but I think it will be fun. The weather is absolutely perfect, too!

I'll be working in the yard straightening up from the rains last weekend! The plants loved it! We had a waterfall in our backyard that was quite spectacular! Even had water running OUT of the fish pond. Unfortunately there was major flooding in some areas of the metro area. Be safe. Love. Oh, Phil sent your books yesterday. SA
