I've just spent the last 5 minutes trying to clean the inside of my mouse because my cursor's been jumping all over the place.

I am now wishing I had an optical mouse. This is so disgusting!

That's how I procrastinated in grad school. I'd go into our computer lab (there was a designated lab for grad students) and clean mouse balls.

They still make analog mice?

Sadly, yes. I just got the standard equipment with my work computer. Apparently an optical mouse is still Optional Equipment.

I think we have one at home... I plan to bring it in. I'm nauseous enough without having to look at that gray frightfulness.

Yes, yes it was. It was better than cleaning the bathroom or kitchen.

Girl, didn't you have tv? Or the internet? Those were my procrastination methods of choice.

I'm vaguely embarrassed by how much this surprises me...

We did... But the TV made my head hurt, and I didn't want to go online. This was when I was having five migraines a day, and really didn't want to do much of anything at all. I could rationalize mouse cleaning as being productive.

Ahhh, I see. I had those days, too, but I usually just spent them in bed trying to be very very still.

Good on you for at least trying to be productive!

That whole summer still kind of amazes me. My migraines hadn't yet been diagnosed, and they were so frequent and so weird. I spent most of that summer with a BP hovering around 80/60, and generally wanting to die. Yet I still somehow finished my thesis and received good marks.

Most of the migraineurs I know are a stubborn lot. None of want to have our lives derailed by a "mere headache"!

My optical mouse at work was broken for like a year, then my boss ordered a football themed mouse for a client. The company sent the wrong team, and then never requested us to return the wrong one after they sent the right one. So I snagged it and now am the proud owner of a KU (Kansas University? It's got a giant chicken with Mickey Mouse shoes on it) mouse.
