Mom arrived at around lunchtime on Friday - actually, even earlier - so I skedaddled from the lab pretty early that day. Mom had said that she wanted to dine, but we were too hungry to wait for dinner. . . so we went for an early dinner at the olive garden then did some shopping at Lowe's, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Office Depot and Sam's Club.

Let's see. . . We got:

Lowe's:
Broom
Light bulbs
Pretty new faux alabaster shades for the light kits on my kitchen fans (finally! The old ones were TACKY TACKY TACKY!!)
One of those fuzzy-dusters
Clorox wipey things
Air filter
Batteries
A light that I'm going to return. . . and I can't remember what else

Bed Bath & Beyond:
nothing

Old Navy:
4 t-shirts
1 blouse

Office Depot:
File box
Hanging files
File folders

Sam's Club:
Toilet paper (gotta have that!)
steaks (had two of 'em for dinner last night! yummy!)
256-count Carefree liners :-D (that'll last me for a while!)
2 pair capri overalls for mom

At that point, we felt we'd worked off lunch and could be justified in going home to crash. We dutifully did just that.

On Saturday, we came in to the lab for a little bit, then met up with Dave to head out to the greenhouses. We had a full day of flowers and perennials, with a brief stop to stuff ourselves with Mexican food at Nuestro Mexico. Two flats of marigolds, one flat of pansies and 2 dozen gallon pots of perennials later, we were home. And we're still not done. Adrienne stopped by at around 6 or so, and we all shot the shit for several hours under the guise of deciding where we wanted dinner before finally settling on Chili's sometime around 9:15. Heh. Saturday was a great day.

Sunday's plans were well-laid but didn't come to fruition very well - that's ok. We slept in, then lingered over breakfast at the Bakehouse before heading to the grocery store at around noon. We didn't get home until 2 o'clock, at which point we didn't have time to do much planting before I needed to head into work. So we planted a few pansies in pots, then I placed perennials in beds and straightened up while mom mowed the lawn, then we cooked dinner and ate out on the patio in the late afternoon sunlight. At 5:30, it was off to the lab where I got a bit of work done while mom straightened up my desk and shelves, we hung my Spring Mill poster in the hall, and then we picked up some ice cream at the Chocolate Moose on the way home at around 9. Then it was tv and bedtime.

Strange occurrences:
1. This morning mom and I found that someone had been in her suburban. Someone other than us. We opened the doors to find the glovebox, console and CD cubby wide open and her sunglasses on the seat. No, we did not leave them that way. Nothing appears to be missing. Freaky. B'ton PD is coming out to take a report. This way we have a record in case something happens again. *shiver*

2. We were out in the yard all afternoon yesterday, but during the 4 minutes that we were both inside before heading out to the lab, somebody dropped off two plants on my front step. No note. They didn't ring the doorbell or knock, even though it was pretty clear that we were home. Nice, but weird. Who gave them to me?!? Why didn't they at least tell me whether they are sun or shade perennials? Um. Thank you? Weird.

Aside from the Suburban incident, it sounds like you're having a great time!

I hope I can at least get dinner out of my parents when they come down here for "graduation." (;
