Franklin has a theme song. It has Christie sitting on her perch across the room looking very perplexed. It goes a little something like this. . .

Anything you can do, I can do betterrrr! I can do anything better than you!

He curls up in her favorite spot under the bed and he tussles with her favorite area rug next to the bed. He steals my bedroom slippers (something Christie never did, but probably wishes she had tried). He plays with the carpet under the clawfoot tub. He roams around the bench seats in the breakfast area of the kitchen - Christie's longtime hangout, well-marked by her fur, no matter how much I vacuum.

This morning. Oh, this morning, though, he topped the cake. He really took the prize this morning. Having run out of Royal Canin kitten food, I'd opened a bag of Nutro - two paws down. Uh oh, thought I. (As an aside, I need to run home over lunch to buy Royal Canin kitten food and another covered litter box, but that's another story.) To compensate, I give them a dish of yogurt and an apology with their amoxicillin.

Then I hear *CRUNCHCRUNCHCRUNCH* and look down to see Christie at my feet. She runs off to the kitchen, jumps up to her perch by the window and stares across the room to her food perch. Then she looks at me. Then looks at her food perch. Then she looks back at me. She's in shock. She's not mad, but she's confused.

There, on her food perch, is Franklin chowing down quite heartily on Christie's prized Dental Diet. The Dental Diet kibble that is probably a 1/2 inch across is apparently no problem for teeny little 2lb Franklin and his baby teeth. Never mind that the food he's been eating is no larger than Grape Nuts.

So I figure that right now, Rosalind is the only one going hungry, poor little thing.

It turns out that Franklin is too big for his britches and Christie isn't as finicky as she pretends to be (I've caught her eating the kitten chow) and Rosalind, poor Rosalind, just gets left behind and beat up by her big adoptive brother.

Snip snip, Franklin. Snip snip :-)

LOL
Love that story.
So? When do we get to see pictures of your new children?

*sigh*
Keep this up and you'll have as many cats as a certain web guy/expectant father who's screen name is the name of his big orange cat (no, not Garfield). She wouldn't let him have any more cats so they went for a child instead. :)

Alas, I have 16 pictures left on my roll of film! Drat! With luck, I'll have things to take pictures of this weekend, and we can have show and tell soon :-D
