Alas and alack! The weekend, it is over! *sob*

I had such a fantastic time in Chicago, and then came home to spend some wonderful (but, as always too brief) time with Jeff.

The R.E.M. concert was everything I hoped it would be. You all know how passionate I am about music, so I'm sure you can imagine the joy that filled my heart Friday night. I was near tears more than once, and oh so very happy.

Almost every song on the setlist held me in thrall. Some are favorites for their sound - a sound that fills my body with a driving rhythm, sweet tones and harmonies. Then there are those songs that seem to pass straight through to my heart and soul - they know me and sing out words I've never had the courage to speak aloud until I have music and can sing them freely. Can you tell which songs belong in which category?

Finest Worksong, Drive, Fall on Me, Imitation of Life, The One I Love, Daysleeper, All the Way To Reno, At My Most Beautiful, Losing My Religion, She Just Wants to Be, Walk Unafraid, Man on the Moon, Nightswimming, Everybody Hurts, Electrolyte, Get Up and It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

We also heard a few new songs, and one that was new to me. What a wonderful, beautiful night! I only wish Jeff had been there to share it with me, too. I was thinking about you the whole time, especially when they played At My Most Beautiful.

Walk Unafraid is my anthem. *nods*

Michael Stipe is cut, ohmygodohmygod! I'm sorry Jeff, but I told Dave on the way home that I wanted a lick (just a one lick). *grin* He looked SO yummy. And after all that music. . . what can I say?
