Nose to the grindstone
Dec. 15th, 2003 09:51 amMonday morning (bright?) early, I'm back in the lab. I was out for 4.5 days and it feels like I'm terribly behind. I had so many plans for last week, and I could have been so much farther ahead if I hadn't been sick.
Nothing to be done about it now, but pick up where I left and work even more quickly and efficiently. I have some critical data I need to obtain, and I should be able to get it by Wednesday - but we could have used it several days ago.
Ergh. Forget it. Nothing I can do about lost time, now.
Everything sounds a tad muffled to me and I have a bit of husk in my voice, so I think my head must be pretty full of junk and my chords are still swollen. My tidal volume (lung capacity) is better than it was - I was at about 1/2 capacity on Friday - but I'm still not at full. No snow-shovelling or stair-climbing for me! *snap* Drat!
On tap for the day:
Sequence my newest plasmid
Subclone to make another plasmid
Start a LOAD of induction cultures
One or two transformations
Grocery shopping for a few items Although, I STILL have to go back out to find whipped cream and hot chocolate. Stupid grocery store ran out or doesn't carry it anymore.
Buy wrapping paper
Rent a movie - Grapes of Wrath, I think.
Alrighty then. Let's see what I can manage to get done!

Date: December 15th, 2003 09:51 am (UTC)I'd do that if I had a lab.
Too bad you didn't think of that when I was teaching anatomy last year... I had bones, dissected bodies, and a crazy white labcoat! (;
Oh, heck. I should do it, anyway. The Recreation & Park Administration folks would be really confused...

Date: December 15th, 2003 10:00 am (UTC)hey... the "Demo Team" from our Grand Masters school did a show at our promotion tests yesterday. This one young looking and very pretty east indian girl did a fabulous show with a taped stick... it ended with a "performed" fight between between her and would-be-attacker armed with numchucks (sp?)... she was awsome!

Date: December 15th, 2003 10:34 am (UTC):) I'll see what I can do about that in the nearish future. Considering I'll be teaching this semester, I'm sure I will be the mad scientist at some point. Probably more than once.
