bronwynrh | Happy New Year, Belated

Hi LJ-land. I've been in Iowa for two weeks now, and I FINALLY have internet access, although it's neither (a) at home nor (b) on a computer I can call my own. So. Not much will be coming from me until those things are resolved.

But, for a quickie:

I got cards from some of you, and want to tell you that I am very grateful. THANKS!
I've had 2 migraines since I've been here.
I/we have spent an assload of money on new appliances already.
We went 10 days with tepid showers because of a dead (thanks for telling us, sellers!) water heater.

We are slowly settling in, and today is my first day at work. I'm not working, of course, I'm filling out forms and figuring out where they need to go and wondering how I'm going to like a 25 minute morning bus commute when I can drive it in about 8 minutes. The hitch is, I have to pay through the nose to park my car here, and I don't get a parking permit. Even if I DID get a parking permit, it would be for a commuter lot, and then I'd have to take a BUS.

Weird. IU pissed me off in many ways, but when it comes to parking I was a spoiled brat.

That's it for now. When I have my own computer again, and a beautiful ethernet connection to go with it, I'll upload a couple of pictures from my graduation day.
