My first thoughts:

1. Damn, it's a trainwreck already
2. Terrorism: It's a Family Affair!

"The Best Season Yet" boasts Fox. Heh. We'll see.

Honestly, the only characters they brought back from the last THREE seasons were Jack and Chloe - the two characters I like least of anyone (yes, I hate Jack. Sick of his shit.) - come on!! I'll give it a chance, but I'm not wedded to it. However, getting to watch a sixth of the season in two nights IS a good way to reel me in.

Yeah, that was a shrewd move on the producers' part, I think. They must have known they had to be aggressive about getting us back.

I'm pissed though, because I already spotted a continuity error. Heller and spawn of Heller (as I assume TWOP will call her) were being dragged around because Heller wouldn't strip on command. Then on the next *beep**beep**beep* segment, there they are, fully clothed and peering through the cage wire.

Tsk.

At least it took Bauer and pal half an hour to get to the train station. I remember last season, they were crisscrossing LA like it was no bigger than a studio lot.

Yeah, shrewd move, but also necessary - if they didn't start out with a big ep dump, there's no way they'd be able to air the finale (probably two hours, as usual) during May sweeps. The perils of starting in January.

Continuity's always been a bitch with this show - yes, it took Jack 30 mins to get to the train station, but it only took him about three to get from wherever their hotel was to CTU - convenient hotel!

Honestly, the part that bugs me the most is the blatant racial stereotyping. Why couldn't we have a DOMESTIC terrorist for a season, perhaps? Or maybe some pissed-off Neo-Nazi German dudes? Or go the James Bond route and give us a(nother) meagalomaniacal Brittish dude. why does "terrorist" always mean "muslim"? that pisses me off. Like Americans (i.e. stupid people who can't think for themselves) really need to be fed that association more than they already are byt the nightly news. It's no wonder the middle-east hates us; 3/4 of the country thinks being muslim means you're a terrorist.

ugh.

I guess they're trying to be timely. For a long time, all the bad guys were Japanese and Germans. Then South American drug cartels. Then the muslims, I guess. Did the Muslim terrorist thing start with True Lies?

But yes, I see what you mean and I agree. Let's try something new and different for oncce, eh?

24 what ?

I would rather strip wallpaper than watch an episode of 24.

Good thing we have plenty of wallpaper that needs stripping! Two more hours' worth at least, tonight.

By the way - I have a bone to pick with you. Something about a closet door.

xxoo

Train wreck??!!?? Ok, it isn't the best start of a season, but niether was last year and it ended with a bang...

I still say the second season is the best thus far...

I meant that literally, silly boy!
