Aug. 26th, 2005 09:20 amSo, I'm going on about 20 minutes of sleep today. I've been feeling puffy for the past two days - all over - but this morning, apparently my face is showing it too.
When I came into the lab this morning, ND asked if I was alright and said my face was puffy.
Greeeeaaaat
Last night was ridiculous. I was feeling sort of drifty, when I realized how late it was and Jeff wasn't home yet. Of course I worried a little bit, not for his safety as much as for the knowledge that his night must not have gone very well. Ok, a little for his safety, too. That woke me from my drifty near-slumber.
He got home just around midnight, and the dogs went ape. By the time they were settled and Jeff and I had talked a bit, I was riled up and unable to sleep. I tried and tried and tried. No use. I think Jeff got about 2 hours of sleep, not much more than that.
Crazy.
This morning I can feel my swollen, stinging eyelids and my puffy fingers - just the smallest signs of my jetless jet-lagged fluid-retaining self.
But, I'm at work and have plans to keep myself busy. Until I collapse, that is.
It hardly seems fair that I feel as though I've just completed a trans-atlantic flight, without the benefit of having left town.
