Hey, saves me the trouble of reading archives, right?
No obligation, ladies. Really.

I make killer mashed potatoes and potato salad (ask Jeff, he'll agree!). I'm quite good at pasta sauces, chicken recipes and pork roasts and pork chops and salmon croquettes. I make excellent guacamole and I'm getting better at salsas. I also just like off-the-cuff things. Creating great meals based on a bunch of leftovers and partially empty containers of stuff.

Jeff and I have a lot of fun when we're in the kitchen together.

Potato salad is deceptively hard to make well in my opinion. Every time I've tried I have been so disappointed in my results!

Hey how do you do your pork roasts?? I have to say that I have never ever done one.

I WISH i could create meals from scratch/leftovers. That is a real art in fact a cooking school is having a series based on just that I would love to attend but aint forking out the bucks for at this point... That is so cool. :)

Some people prefer marinades, but I do best with dry rubs. Basically, I just massage it with olive oil, coarse salt, fresh ground pepper and garlic, then open the spice cabinet and pull out whatever else looks good - lemon pepper, thyme, whatever.

Then I throw it on the grill or in the oven to get a nice crusty roast.

Jeff and I also make pork chops - we marinate them in a cream and spices mixture. The cream tenderizes while all our favorite spices soak in. Throw those on the grill or pan-sear them and cook 'em in the oven.

Dee-lish!

Okay, I thought the invisible friend was a little mouse. And I sometimes wish I'd become an archaeologist or an astronomer or a paleontologist or a geologist or... Majored in Math and became a computer nerd!

PS I don't play the piano anymore either.

You know, I think I had the mouse at Evelyn's house. She had that Chinese lantern - I used to pretend the mouse lived in there.

I think at home though, in our house on Acacia Street, it was a monkey.

We'll await confirmation from the parentals :)
