Not to repeat myself or anything, but
Dec. 7th, 2005 09:24 amJEEZUS it's COLD outside!
-13F this morning, "feels like" -20something thankyouverymuch. Even though my Eddie Bauer Supercoat kept my middle bits warm, my legs and buttcheeks are still cold. And I've been at work for over an hour already. "Feels like" my ass. It feels too damn farking cold is what it feels like.
And more snow on the way. Groovy.
I know my parents are watching the weather up here, so they know it's cold, but I don't think they really understand quite how cold it is. They're gonna be a little shocked when they get here in a couple of weeks.
In other news, it's
microbie's birthday today, so go wish that great gal a happy day and a wonderful new year. She's quite the inspiration, that
microbie. :)
In yet other news, I have no news. Hence the dearth of postalicious goodness from my little corner of the intarweb. Still working in the lab, still trying to find a project that tweaks my nerdy fancy. Still got the migraines, although I think they aren't as severe as before. But then again, I may just be in denial.
I'm still going like gangbusters over at Distributed Proofreaders, where I'm ranked #12 out of almost 3000 P1-rounders. I'm several hundred pages behind #11, but I'm slowly gaining on ol' maggimeh. Hm. Did my nerd hat just get bigger?
Let's help it along, then. I taught myself how to crochet last weekend. My Grandma Louise started to crochet an afghan long, long ago - we're talking decades, here - and never finished it. I've always wanted to finish it, so we'd have a project we've done together, even though she passed away more than 10 years ago. So finish it, I will. 2 squares down, only about 60-odd more to go.
I'm also working on my big cross-stitch project, off and on. This is what it will look like, someday:

And because I'm such a sucker for punishment, I have three more patterns for large fine-art projects. I'll probably be well into my retirement before they're finished.
Oooo! It's up to -9F! Toasty!

Date: December 7th, 2005 03:37 pm (UTC)-20C or F....? Then again, I don't suppose it matters much.
I used to work in Greece. One year I flew back to Scotland for Xmas......when I left Athens it was 22 deg C. I got to Scotland wearing shorts and a denim shirt....it was the coldest day on record at -24 deg C. It was hideous cold.

How 'bout you come spend winter with us, and we'll enjoy hurricane season with you...
