A Filipina in CA is in need of a bone marrow transplant
As far as I know, none of my readers are Filipino, but I know several of you know Filipinos. This is oddly timed, as I just missed a bone marrow donor registry last Friday. I'm planning to call the hospital to see if I can come in and register alone.
In any case, these intarweb things have a way of getting around and finding success, so I thought I'd help it along.

Date: February 14th, 2006 01:23 am (UTC)I registered at work, and they gave me a pamphlet...it cites a *boohoohoo* story about a woman who has three boys, ages 13, 6, and 1, all of whom have a degenerative disease they can't diagnose until the child is 5. So why did she keep having babies? That made me so mad I wanted to withdraw my name. This crazy woman kept bringing children into the world who were expected to die a horrible death before their eighth birthday.
But it's not the kids' fault. I did tell the bone marrow assn that they should take that out of the literature. Just tell us there are three kids and don't mention they're related...then it'll feel good to volunteer.
