Technology blows

I have . . . let's see. . . 700ish times 5 makes about 35 hundredish Megabytes of data burned onto CDs. This is data that I got by using some pretty fabulous technology. Technology that does NOT blow.
I brought this data to our computer in the lab to try and use some software called Metamorph for image manipulation (as in, turning stacks of images into 3-D images) and some software called COMSTAT which would put some pretty fantastic numbers and statistical analysis to my images. Those numbers would make my "this mutant really is different" analysis a little more convincing to the scientific world. This software is technology that also does NOT blow.
The technology that blows is the dumbass, STUPID fucking goddam @#$#%*&* CD-ROM that looks at my CDs and says, "Your CD has folders with names but nothing in them."
GAAAAAAAAAAAA!
And I KNOW it's the CD-ROM's fault, not mine, because I can put the CD into MY computer and MY computer says "Ahhh, a CD with folders and PICTURES and DATA!". Of course, my computer does not have the software because the software comes laden with licenses that cost thousands of dollars.

Before you say anything. . . When burning the data onto the CDs and closing the CDs I used the option that would make the CD-R readable by "most other computers and CD-ROMs" the ISO-966 whatevermajiggerthingie format.

Silver lining? I haven't and won't delete the folders from the microscope lab computer until I can access the files on these damned CDs.
