Strange Statuary
Jul. 17th, 2006 09:18 amFor your viewing pleasure.
Jeff and I spent the last four days painting, grouting, reshuffling of yet more stuff and (unexpectedly) plumbing. We discovered a leaky sink which threw a rather large wrench in our weekend plans. Pun intended. Suddenly, instead of a cosmetic touch of paint here and there, we were swinging a sledgehammer, carefully patching drywall and installing a new vanity. Dammit. It's very nearly finished, so it's not a worry anymore, but it sure did set us back.
We're waiting for the call from the carpet people, a call which will send us into another flurry of activity, ripping up the nasty-ass carpet from hell.
The house exploded into chaos, and we're gradually bringing it back into order. The remaining chaos is hard to see around, though, so we have to remind ourselves of the things we've accomplished. There is a list, and we're crossing items off of it.
I add things to the list, just so I can cross them off.
We'll be on the MLS in a couple of days. Then it'll be time to hopehopehope.
10 working days left to freedom.
Oh, and that job? Well, it's mine if they get the project funded. They're confident the funding will come through, but they can't say for certain, yet. Which means I don't have a job offer. Yet. So that goes to the backburner, awaiting our return to Kentucky and a meeting with the president of the company. Call it backburner hoping, if you will.
Time for lab meeting. Urf.
