I was in a mood yesterday morning (couldja tell?), and I should have realized that it was a sign. By the time I got home, I was feeling pretty icky, which is the polite way of saying, "I was hoping for death". I took a Benedryl, and called [livejournal.com profile] travellight to talk about paper. . . shopping over the phone is fun, by the way. . . as we were finishing up, I had trouble speaking and there was an ice pick through my eyeball.

One imitrex, plus about an hour of progressively feeling worse (thanks to both the migraine and the body-crawls from the drug), and another imitrex left me in quite a state. I went to bed at 7 thinking, "I'll just lie very still for half an hour, then I'll feel better."

I didn't wake up until 10:45, when Jeff got home from work.

Huh. Well, alrighty then.

I woke up feeling a bit moody again this morning, but not too bad, until noon came around and, wouldn't you know it, the migraine crept back in. Bastard! And here I am, drugless because I was stupidly optimistic in choosing not to put my new pill pack in my bag. Dumb dumb dumb!

I'm pukish and hurting, but in a good mood. Go figure.

Drawers have been cleared (mostly), data has been discussed and handed over to the bossman, and I'm nearly done. Maybe tomorrow or on Saturday, I'll come back with the car and box everything up. I don't like packing with an audience.

Who am I kidding? I don't like packing, at all!

In any case, YAY!

I had my hair glossed. This apparently has to be done one strand at a time.

Glossed? Did the process involve shellack or Sally Hansen?

Neither. Niether? Hrm. Well, not either of those. It's like getting your hair colored, but there's no color. It just makes it very shiny and much easier to deal with.

Neither. Of course people can pronounce it nyether or neether. . . I say nyether, how' bout you? And cool! How long does this treatment last?

Sometimes words look perfectly normal and then you remember a rule and it gets you out of whack.

I say niiiigh - thur.

It lasts as long as getting your hair colored, which for me is about 5 or 6 weeks because I use spendy shampoo and conditioner for colored hair, and if I'm going to be outside for a long time, I use a sunscreen leave-in conditioner.

I was looking at a sign yesterday: "STAIR"

It looked so wrong.

I need to get my highlights touched up.
I'm also planning to give Holly a call early next month.

There was just one stair? Why didn't the sign say "STEP"?

Huh. You know, that may be why it looked wrong. It was pointing to the doorway of a stairwell.

But there was only the one S.

Then screw the packing and throw it all away and start over!

A logical suggestion, Captain.

We unloaded about 1/5 of our stuff before we moved to Iowa. Since then, we've unloaded another 1/3 - with plans to leave the superhuge television set and washer and dryer behind. All in all, we've done well.

Clearly, though, I need to be yet more harsh with my belongings.

It amazes me, the things we collect.

I seem to attract wing chairs. And dining tables and chairs. I've managed to offload them all now (onto my mother, who I suppose will, in the big picture, offload them back on to me).

Chair magnets

I attract chairs, too. So does Jeff, for that matter.

When anyone visits, there is no worry about where to sit.

Not at my house, either, as long as it doesn't offend Tina Turner's sensibilities.

Wrigley hates it when I sit next to Jeff on the couch. She wants me to stay in my chair.

*hugs*

Hope you get to feeling better.

But, YAY for nearing the light at the end of the tunnel!
