Some people do the strangest things. . . wow.
I don't have much to say today. It's kind of a slowish day in the lab - my rotation student didn't do what she needed to do this morning, so she can't do the rest of her stuff until later when I'l already gone. Oh well.
My high school student hasn't been in this week either. . .
I think I've finally reached a point in my life where the start of the school year really just affects everyone else - but not me. Gee. Only took what, 18-19 years?
Clay and Yves (my PI and one of my committee members) reminded me today that I'm a senior grad student now - an excellent representative of my class. All this high praise just to convince me to go to the micro party tonight at Yves' place - and to convince me to chauffeur Clay AND pick up the pizzas.
Yeah, I'm a sucker for flattery.
On my bench is a magnet that says: "I'm cleverly disguised as a responsible adult"
I think it's a lie. I actually AM a responsible adult.
Doggonit.
Hmmmm Potch just asked me what I want my wedding song to be. Granted, I have a long while before I have to make the final decision on that point, but it may be worth thinking about. I think I'll work up a list of candidates for my next posting - I'll let you guys (whoever you guys are :-)) help me choose.
Then we have to work on finding a worthy man to fill the tuxedo.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here, but it seems nonsensical rambling has some part to play. That just so happens to be one of my greater abilities...it runs a close second to my greatest ability - stepping on toes.
Anyway, I figured I should at least respond to one of these crazy things. Frighteningly, it's fairly enjoyable to read rants that have little to do with my life - so perhaps I'll make a trip back this way some time and wax not-so-poetically (that is until you decide it's probably best to block my comments).
An excellent representative, eh? I will most likely be that person the PI points at in the lab while my back is turned and says, "Do the opposite of everything that guy is doing and stay far away from him - he's not good."
I wish I was responsible. I sometimes convince myself that I'm a responsible adult...but then I find myself in toys r us purchasing an action figure b/c it has swivel-arm battle grip or some really cool weapon that could blow up the planet. That's when that idea fades.
Well, I best depart.
