is sleep.

Sleep. Sleep. Sleeeeeeeep.

I simply cannot wake up today. Needless to say, my productivity is somewhere around nil. Zzzzzz

Oh, yes. We mustn't forget the heartburn.

Oh dear god the heartburn. Be careful how you treat it too. I had heartburn for five months of my pregnancy and chewed quickeze, having been told they were safe for babe. It was only AFTER she was diagnosed with reflux I was told the heartburn remedies mostly cause that!!!!!!!

If you can, treat it herbally, it's the best peice of advice i can give you. You DON'T want a newborn with reflux.

Maybe I'll stick with the baking soda and dispense with the TUMS (I assume they're the same as Quickeze). You are absolutely right - I DON'T want SamPatrick to have reflux!

What do you take for your heartburn? Have you ever used Gaviscom? It always worked very well for me - and I recall reading back when I was in grad school for speech pathology that it had been used on infants with reflux problems... so it's pretty gentle, too.

I've been taking TUMS or baking soda, but after what scorpbeotch said above, I may quit the TUMS. I definitely do NOT want SamPatrick to have reflux! Yikes!

I'll look into Gaviscon (however it's spelled) and Pepcid AC.

Ditto, here. I've been warding it off by taking 2 TUMS and 2 Phillips (so I don't get plugged up from the TUMS!) every night before going to bed.

Now I'm paranoid about the TUMS giving baby reflux. Jeez.

My father-in-law swears by papaya for heartburn. It's completely natural and tastes a bit better than tums. It works for me, but doesn't seem to last very long!

Baking soda works like a charm for me - so far, anyway.
Look at your box of Arm & Hammer for the recipe. I think it's 1/4 tsp. soda in 4 oz. of water. Stir until completely dissolved, then chug. I sometimes take a second dose after an hour or two, if the heartburn comes back.
