It's just not my week

I should have stayed in bed this morning.

I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong with it this time. No one's fault - material failure of some sort - like I said I'm still trying to figure it out. I am so frustrated and angry right now I want to scream.

Instead, I'm just trying not to cry.

And failing.

Edit: Ok, I squeezed out a few tears and got over it. This is science, after all. It blows, and it blows often. This is a complicated growth format I'm attempting here, much much more complicated than a simple test tube. I may have figured out the problem, but it's an expensive problem, and I'll be checking with our collaborator to see if it's something he's ever experienced.

Every problem has a solution.

It may just take a long damn time to find it.

Or to get it to work!

I think you are right - a vacation is really in order. Many years ago we couldn't afford to leave town and were heavily stressed due to a political campaign. So, we checked into a hotel on the other side of town! After all we knew all the good restaurants. Slept a lot - swam (it was later in the year), ate great food, went to the movie. And didn't even have to put the dogs in the vet because we could dash home to feed them. Just a thought.

Sorry the experiments aren't going well, sweetie! Your cd's will be in the mail very soon, so you'll have some relaxing music to look forward to.

What exactly is it that you're researching anyway? I'm afraid that I never studied biology. I was traumatized by my 10th grade biology teacher, so I jumped at the chance to study botany and astronomy to fulfill my college science requirements.

I'm so envious that you get spring break, and I have to wait at least six months before I'm eligible for any vacation time!!!

Well, I don't actually get spring break. I just decide whether or not I want to TAKE spring break. At this point, I don't know whether or not it will happen.

In light of my experimental failure today, I have to start again (again, again) which means ANOTHER three day delay. Which takes us right up to the actual spring break dates.

Right now, it's a dream. We'll see what happens :-)

As for the research, I'll give everyone a lesson soon, I promise!
