Robert, thank you for the mini radio - It's very cute and very mini. Cool.

Thanks to everyone who sent cards to me, too. I didn't manage to finish my list, and I don't imagine I'll manage to at all. . . I'm sorry :( Next year, I'll be better, I promise!

I have been sick as a dog with the worstest cold since Thursday afternoon. I won't bore you with the symptoms and details, because I suspect that a good number of you are suffering with the same blasted bug. Suffice to say, there has been much fatigue and copious amounts of facial leakage.

My free-flowing sinuses today yielded the most spectacular nosebleed I've ever had. They say we pregnant gals are carrying extra blood and that we can expect a nosebleed here and there. They have been right, so far, but this? This was just out of control. And I was driving, at the time. So you can imagine, if you will, me steering with my left hand through the twists and turns of our country road, while my right hand clasped a swiftly soaked-through tissue to my nose.

Ack! Mom! Hand me another one!

So. Gross.

I had to stand there in the corner of the post office, trying to be discreet with my bloody self while mom completed our business. That wasn't at all embarrassing, nope.

And I bet you're glad to have clicked through, aren't you? Fools.

In spite of my puffy eyes, free-flowing face and bright red chapped schnoz, we had a good Christmas. I experienced my first Christmas Eve at Grandma's. . . whoa. Lots of people opening a ridiculous number of presents. One at a time. In a very warm and cramped room.

Jeff and I decided a few things. First, we and the Sprout will not spend the whole afternoon and evening at Grandma's next year. It just ain't gonna happen. Second, we hope a rule will be established that only the weejuns and Grandma get presents. Seriously. There were about 30 of us, and we all had to open our gifts in order of age. It took forever. Longer, even. Still, it was fun to see my FIL's family in action.

Christmas morning, we opened presents (after I remembered to wrap a few forgotten items) here at home, then packed up some more gifts and headed up the road to my in-laws house, where we spent a lovely afternoon. Our parents get along swimmingly, and my SIL and BIL are always fun to be around. I was still a leaky sick mess, so I spent much of my time hustling back and forth to the bathroom, and I maintained a supply of Puffs in my (substantial) cleavage for emergency use. I also excused myself for a little nap on the couch, after which I was finally able to eat a little something and rejoin society.

We already have plans for Christmas at our house next year, and I'm already excited for it.

Today I am human once again, but for the snot, which always accompanies the tail-end of a cold. At least there is hope for recovery. . . I have no desire to spend the rest of my pregnancy with a cold, the way my mom did.

A couple of errands, some furniture moved and craft supplies organized, a pork roast in the oven, and I'm ready to put my feet up and crochet for a while. Tomorrow, I return to work for what I hope will be a wonderfully productive three days. Holy Harold, how I love a short work week!

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Bleh, sorry to hear about your cold! *hugs*

I've been rather snot-enhanced, myself, since I've been at my parents' place. But, I'm going home tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to a mucous-free rest of the week!

No nosebleeds for me yet this pregnancy, although I did have a couple with Josh.

I'm still nursing this darn cold too. My nose is *almost* done running, but I have a nagging cough that is not productive at all and annoys the heck out of me.

I started crocheting today! I got some yarn and I'm working on a baby afghan. Probably not for my little one... but I haven't decided who is gonna get it yet. :)

I have a log cabin in progress for Jeff, a shell-patterned one in progress for little Seija, and another shell one that was going to be for little Duncan, but I don't like the yarn and am going to scrap it and start over with something else.

If I'm lucky, I'll get them finished before the babies are, say, READING.

I still need to start one for Samuel Patrick (I do like that name) and I have a bunch of fabric ready for quilt-making. And some more for making stockings so our family of 4 (almost 5) will have stockings next Christmas.

I almost NEED to be put on bed rest, just so I can get all this stuff done!

I figured you'd be at the same stage of this damned cold. At least we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, right? Rest up!

I haven't crocheted (is that how you spell it?) in a couple years but I got the itch today and bought some yarn. If this afghan turns out good, and I feel like doing more, I may actually do one for my little bean. But I have so many of them that were given to me at Josh's shower, plus my mom is making one for bean, so I don't really need more! My sister-in-law may get one for her baby that's due in August.

Man, you have a LOT of work to do girl!!

I'm about to go to bed. My bedroom is locked up filling with vicks vapors to hopefully loosen this cough... I feel like if only the crud in there would break up when I coughed I'd feel almost normal again!

Hooray for Vicks vapors!

Our bedroom is so big, I don't think our vaporizer can handle it. . . or maybe I just can't smell it right now :)

I'm sure we both sound lovely, with our loud, racking coughs.

Last night was the first night I could actually really smell it! That's a good sign, right?

Cough is still here this morning, and still not loose. GRRRR. I'm so sick of this! Mike has this whole week off and I've been sick the entire time! Not fair.

:-) You and I are on exactly the same cold track! Incredible!

I should've taken my Robitussin this morning, because I'm thick an gooey, too. I hated the faucet nose, but the tight goo and plugged-up ears are worse.
