First of all, I want to wish
nancymccoyhicks a very happy birthday. You've had a rough year, this next one just has to be better!
Now, for the pictures.

Samuel Patrick has a perfect-looking heart; Lisa the Nurse told us he was showing off with his perfect heartrate, which varied between 125 and 155. I had no idea baby's heartrates oscillated so regularly. Very cool, neh?

Ok, I also had no idea that with a sonogram, you can see that baby's eyes are open. Cool, but also creepy. I can't look at this one for too long.

After 2 hours of monitoring, 1 hour of waiting, poking and prodding and no lunch, mommy and baby were both ready for a nap.

Holy cow. He looks just like me! Those cheeks and that nose are pure Ramey :) I wonder what he'll look like when he's done cookin'?

Date: January 24th, 2007 02:26 pm (UTC)With my first, in 2002, we happened to be in for our 20 week sono at our hospital which was a GE beta site for their 3D US. The rep for the machine asked us if we would like to have a few pics taken and of course we said yes! The technology has really emerged. With C, 3D was just standard fare at my OB office. You will find him to totally resemble these very photos when he "pops out" (as my niece puts it ;).

Date: January 24th, 2007 06:14 pm (UTC)I didn't know that about baby heartrates until a friend's son was in the NICU. I went to visit, and was watching the monitor and freaking out. She then explained how there was a certain range of acceptable rates.

Date: January 24th, 2007 06:28 pm (UTC)It was really cool to hear his heart on the monitor, and then to hear his kicks and - always fun - hiccups.
I'm glad though, that my doctor agreed to monitor me only half the time when I'm in labor. So I can be up and about and doing what I want to do for half an hour, and only be strapped down for half an hour at a time. I'm going to be strict about it, too!

Date: January 25th, 2007 03:21 am (UTC)Remember the episode of Friends in which Rachel has an ultrasound, Ross can make out the features but Rachel can't?
I'm trying but I only see baby in the last one. I mean, I know that the others are baby but I can't pinpoint any body parts.
