Even during the floods -- when all roads were closed in both counties and it really wasn't safe to be out and about -- we had to be in, for obvious reasons.
That's actually pretty cool, though, because it gives me free reign to be driving during a state of emergency.
Snow day? What's a snow day? We don't have those here. ;) In fact, my HHP lab was outdoors today, in the 17°F and snow and 20mph wind! It was, uh, invigorating!
Invigorating. Yes, that would be the word for it :)
We didn't get snow days when I lived in Massachusetts, either, but that was at boarding school. They figured we could walk through 7 ft of snow just as well as anybody. In Montana life simply must go on - how many months of snow do you get there, anyway?
It can snow any time of year, really. Last May, in Bozeman, it had been in the 70s, and then on Memorial Day it snowed, a LOT:
And I heard that a couple of years earlier, it snowed on the 4th of July. Ya just never know around here. Although I must say it's much milder here in Missoula. They don't call it the Garden City for nothing, I guess.

I never picked up that ASM book - the microbial alphabet. Must remember to do that!
