bronwynrhIt all began when a chair broke from under me on Friday night, but that's a story best saved for later. I was in labor for about 29 hours, if you count the startup, "false labor" stuff Sunday morning, but I feel better calling it from about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon when things really started cranking for me - even though the on-call doc still called it "false labor" at 11 in the evening. Dink. I showed him, and I took long enough that my own, wonderful doctor was present for all the good stuff. Perfection!
Samuel Patrick was born at 11:45 this morning, March 26, 2007, after an easy 45 minutes of pushing. It was hard work and I felt as though I was about to pass out, but I loved every minute of it.
He weighs 6 lbs 10 ozs and is 19 inches long, has a full head of silky dark brown hair, and eyes so deep and dark we're still unsure of their color. He has his daddy's ears, his mommy's nose, and we're still figuring out whose mouth he has. I'm in awe of him, and am madly in love.
I'll write up a birth story for our own memory book, and will share it with you.
It's bliss time.
