This is a hellish month at work, with a looming grant deadline. Things are coming together, but gradually.

Looks like we're going to get that $1.394M grant I/we applied for last November. HOORAH!

Once we get the official notice, I'll be pouncing to finish our application for another $1M in state matching funds. That's just a matter of crossing some eyes and dotting some tees at this point - oh, and waiting for the official solicitation to be released.

Hurry up and wait.

Speaking of which, I'm 27 weeks along with Little Bit as of tomorrow. 92 days to go, give or take a few. Everything on that front is going well, as far as I can tell. I'm matching my weight from my first pregnancy almost exactly - which means I've gained an awful lot this time, when you take into account the fact that with Samuel, I gained 20 and lost 40. This round, I've already neared a 30-lb weight gain. Oddly enough, I look better this time. I still have my slender fingers and wrists, and my ankles are doing pretty well, too. I'm not the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Woman, and thank goodness for that! Shame I couldn't have gotten married 15 weeks into *this* pregnancy. I'd have done my gown better justice. I think (I hope) this bodes well for my weight loss post-birth.

I've asked a hypnobirthing teacher to come to my house this week to teach me some deep relaxation techniques. For the record, I hate the term "hypnobirthing" and so does she. The term hypnosis puts many people in mind of goofy folks acting like chickens on gymnasium stages. I prefer deep relaxation. Anyway, I've got a small headstart on this, from my pain management training. We'll see how this goes. I love the way "coaches" are discussed - the gist of it is, "stay out of mom's way, and if you must speak to her, do so in short simple phrases."

Sounds about right to me :)

Slowly chugging away at my sewing machine, adding to my etsy shop. It's so much fun to do, and therapeutic. Someday I hope it'll help pay some bills but for now, it's just good therapy and a little expense. I have loads and loads of plans, but patience and small steps are the rule.

I tend to share the same therapeutic vibe as you do with my own craft niche. There's just something about creating, isn't there?

Best wishes on your pregnancy time.

Hey look, today Ecorazzi reported that Jessica Alba used hypnobirthing. Her husband was impressed with her quiet strength.

If only someone would pay you $1.5 million for photos of your new baby.

Golly, that would be nice. I'd retire!
