I'm real busy over here in my world.

So what else is new, right?

Well, not a whole lot. I have few things rolling along that should bring good things to me eventually. . . but they're still rolling along so there's not much to do but wait on some, work on others, prod other people to work on yet others. You know the drill.

I had a great time yesterday seeing Jackie for the first time in a long time. Dave took us to lunch at the Snow Lion ("You're poor and she's a guest", he said! :-D) and then we all had dinner and a 2/3 viewing of Children of Dune at my house. Good times, good times. The rest of my day was spent working with my students and trying to fit in a little bit of my own work. I was also guilty of some procrastination with a little side project I've gotten myself into.

I'll probably get myself out of it before too long. We'll see.

Today is more work on my own project, students again. . . trying real hard to goof off less.

Must. Stay. Focused.

Damn, it's hard when there is something else on my mind that I would rather be doing but don't have a chance anyway.

One month 'til New Hampshire! Thank goodness for something to look forward to!!

:)

How are the little darlings coming along? Falling into the groove a bit more this week?

:-/ It's really hard to say. I had a talk with the REU student and I think he understands that he needs to be better about coming in on time and following through and such. I think he'll be ok. He's a good-humored sort and we get along really well. He just needed a little pop, you know?

My other student is still giving up so fast on the little solvable things it'll make your head spin. I can't imagine the shock for her when she goes to her Ivy League school and has to face a whole new world without a safety net. Scary.
