I'm hesitant to speak too soon, but Autumn just sort of sneaked in a few days ago.

Check that. Autumn rumbled into Indiana with a couple inches of rain and some tornados that had serious staying power (one followed a 40 mile trek!). Suddenly, after a hot, muggy and DRY summer, our temperatures have dropped and the weather is positively glorious!

Even my little lantanas seem happier, although the summer seems to have taken quite a toll on much of my garden.

Maybe mom (who arrives this afternoon for some serious mommy-time) will be able to work some wonders for my fall garden.

Not much news today - I just thought I'd drop a line or two here, since it's been several days since I put up anything fresh.

Happy Autumn, everyone!

Happy Autumn back!

A front came thru Sunday morning and rained most of the day. It was wonderful! Dropped the temps, too. I love a good rainy weekend day. We talked, read our books, played with the myriad animals, watched TV and ate! What a great Sunday. My fall tomatoes have jumped at least 6 inches, the broccoli is growing, the peppers are producing and my asparagus is fluffy and happy (get to harvest that next year!). Love spring and fall weather. Was tempting to call in sick this morning but knew the boss would know what I was doing. You and your mom have fun. Oh...that wish list you told me about..I'd suggest that you don't buy yourself anything on it until after Santa arrives. Have a great week.

In an unfortunate turn of events for Charlotte and here pending broods of thousand. . . a certain homeowner took actions against the arachnid family using a garden hose, it's spout set to "sharp stream".

The homeowner is now turning her attention to the large spider dangling in front of her living room window. . .
