She chortled in her joy.
"Good morning!" said Clay, as he opened the door for me, a welcoming smile on his face.
"Good morning!" said I, as I returned his smile with a big cheery smile of my own.
"Joey's on his way back to Texas," said he.
"Indeed, he is."
"You're free."
"Let the summer begin!"

Christie just about tore Franklin a new one this morning. He was pushing all her buttons - eating her food, lying about on her personal shelf, hanging around outside the litter box while she used it, horning in on her bathroom-with-me-time. Wow. For such a little tyke, he is seriously testing his limits. I guess two months old for a cat is something like 14 years old for a person? I even had to grab him and pop him on the behind a couple of times, and got a nice scratch on my hand to show for it. I won't be at all surprised if I find a present from Christie somewhere in the house when I get home. :-/
Now she's eating the kitten food with Rosalind and he's eating Christie's food. Why? Because Christie refuses to eat after him. *sigh* Cats.
At least Rosalind is feeling better. Her eyes were open - all three eyelids! - and her nose was just a little stuffy this morning. She and I fought over vitamins and saline nose drops this morning, but I think we'll just be fighting over vitamins now for another day or two. I'll feel better once she's gained more weight, but she's getting there. Hooray for motherhood!

Life on other fronts is going pretty well. I'm always making progress, which of course is a good thing. I just have to fight the perpetual fight of trying to balance all the many things that vie for my attention and energies. Not to mention the balance of my desires against what everybody else wants of me.
Heh. I'm just a veritable font of stress, really. But at least I can be glad that one source of stress is gone. Happy happy joy joy!
