Literally!
Yikes. I've just been asked to speak at Monday's Plan Commission hearing, regarding the need for compatible and contextual architectural infill development at Bryan Park Place. I can see that a number of people from several of Bloomington's Core neighborhoods have been asked. This is our last-ditch effort, as Henke and Smith have completely ignored all of our efforts at implementing any architectural controls.
This infill development, if it goes forward unchecked, will result in doubled density and very loosely defined architectural guidelines that will almost certainly leave a scar on our neighborhood akin to that left by the South Palmer development of several years ago. A PUD is supposed to confer a public benefit, but so far, the developers have promised only "innovation".
Let me tell you, I can't get much out of that. None of us can get much out of that, thank you.
I need to think about what I put together as a five minute piece. Now I REALLY wish I had a digital camera. I would take some pictures around the neighborhood, perhaps to illustrate a point or two. Oh well. I probably wouldn't have time, anyway.

You want to go in your own direction? Fine. The sticks are over *there*. I don't want eyesores on the way to work every morning.
Bravo for being part of the community, Bronwyn!
And hey, if you've got leftover frames on that film...
