Sleep of the dead

bronwynrhAlrighty then. So that line about not being able to sleep? Yeah. fuggeddaboudit.
I took one tsp of the codeine around 10:30 or so last night. Shortly after 11, my nose was clear and my eyelids were weighted with lead. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I woke up a little before 7 so I could start trying to reach the IndyStar Classifieds folks, and while I waited, I brushed my teeth and took another dose of the codeine cough stuff, as I was nauseous and hacking to the point of. . . well, yeah. I only took 1.5 tsp, although the bottle said I could take 2.
I managed to stay awake long enough to make the call at around 8am (their message says they open at 7. The message lies.) and then gave myself over to the sandman when he came around again by 9 (I had to watch Ally McBeal, after all).
1pm, I fight and struggle to open my eyes and see that it's not much brighter outside than it was a long time ago. I know it's not the weather that kept me asleep, though. It was the precious, the glorious the splendiferous histussin PLUS codeine.
Dooods, did I sleep the sleep of the dead. Wow.
I'm still tired, but I'm also yearning for a steak. I want meat and I want it now. Unfortunately, all I have in the house is tuna fish and some frozen chicken. Damn.
It's off to a date with my toothbrush and Mr. Shower, then I guess I'll make do with some tuna on toast or some crackers. Then I think I just might take a nap.

When I have a cold
-I haven't the energy to get a shower
-once in the shower, I never want to get out.
