Hi folks. I've been busy busy busy for the past several days, finishing things up at work, trying to clean my house before mom and dad arrived. . . I never get it quite clean enough to make me happy. For some reason, when mom cleans, my house looks *clean*. When I clean, my house looks. . . well, just slightly less dirty and cluttered. I try, I do try, but maybe it's something I won't get until I also get momhood. Oh well.

Mom and dad arrived on Sunday and we decorated my house for the holidays. My mantel is draped in a lovely boxwood garland, and I have a cute little live tree. Think the Charlie Brown Christmas Christmas tree, and you'll have a vague idea of what our little tree looks like :-)

My boy returned late Sunday night and then came up to Bloomington on Monday to spend the night with me and the folks. I was so very very happy to see him again. And to top off the joy of spending time with The Jeffrey, he and my parents got along famously. Yaaaay! After we spend Christmas Eve with our respective families, I and my parents will be driving down to Louisville to spend Christmas Day with Jeff's family. Yes, we are going to put the putative, possible future hypothetical inlaws together in the same room.

Today is a day of rest and cookie-baking, although I am going to go ahead and get dressed and head out to Victoria's secret to pick up some sexy leg dressings. Hrmmmm. . . pantyhose or hose and garters? Tough decision, but I think I'm going to be adventurous and give garters a try.

Gotta look as sexy as I feel, right? Right!

I wish you all a lovely and peaceful holiday.

Awww, look at you being all cute and coupley!
Re the Victoria's Secret stuff: Geez, woman! As long as you wear them whenever it is I get to meet you. ;)
I saw you first!

Will do - so long as I can actually wear the things :-) Mom's always hated garter belts, but I think that's just because she has long legs - they used to snap on her. I imagine that would certainly turn a gal off of them.

I still want to give them a try.

I tried them once. They weren't very comfy.

I agree. Drat. Actually, the fact that they're so short is more of a problem than anything else. I can't wear them with skirts that fall above my knee. What's the point?

*sigh* I guess I'll be returning them and exchange them for a couple pairs of thigh-highs and some regular ol' panty hose.

I am so disappointed. My mom said, "I told you so". Yeah yeah yeah.

Yeah well. We all have purchases like that. We don't listen to other people, we buy, then we decide to return the merchandise.
I like their bras.

Glad to hear that not only do you have a good man and you like his rents, but that you've got boxwood, the most essential of holiday trimmings. And fun to say.

Go with hose and garters. If he has a bowtie, it will twirl.

And remember...some folks like to dip their snuff. Some folks like to chew. But me? I get the greatest joy; from good ol' mountain dew.

*grin* I will certainly let everyone know if any part of him or his clothing twirls!

Pleased to meetcha, and have a wonderful holiday :-)

Oh Bron. When you miss a Dark of the Moon reference I know it has been a long time.

Trip (literally) down memory lane

Actually, I sang that line to myself and thought, "why the hell do I know that?" I suppose it's been just long enough that I didn't finish drawing the connection.

Please. Allow me to hang my head in shame.

So, is this Nick C., or am I way off?

Nail on the head, Bronwyn. In an effort to appease my Sicilian ancestors, once I went to college I changed the pronunciation back to 'Capo-deechay'. Things have been pretty great since that. After another reading of Name of the Rose I looked for people who had 'umberto eco' as an interest. Then I saw someone with both eco AND 'deerfield'. And then kapow. There you wuz.

I remember you actually had fake sweat stains sprayed onto your appalachian garb. Or maybe they were stains from the last actress who wore that shirt when Reese did it 20 years before...I wonder if you heard the terrible news about Orlando P?

Crap, now I have to read Foucault's Pendulum. I tried when I was wayyy too young and gave up on page 14...

Nick, Baybee!

Yes indeedy, you must read Foucault's Pendulum. I *loved* that book. I think I've read it three times, now. Gotta love the Knights Templar!

I think the sweat stains were fake. God, I hope they were fake! I remember the picture Dave M. took of me when Liza and I were rehearsing our big fight. I spotted Dave and his camera and cracked up. They used the picture in the Scroll with a caption about going crazy over exams :-)

Ok, now I'm really worried about Mr. P. What happened? Is he ok? Is Mrs. P ok?

I can't tell you how glad I am that you found me. I keep trying to get my DA friends to start LJing, but I can't even get them to come to my page regularly. Maybe we can gang up on them. We do have a yahoo group - DA95 - where we've been posting pictures. . . we being Eleanor, Sarah, Mollie and your dear sister. If you'd like, I'll get you in. *wink*

Happy Holidays to you in return, and thank you for your continued faith in me, even though you did not have access to my LJ for a while.

I just wanted to say that, in the New Year, I intend to be more trusting, so welcome back to my friend's list.

(p.s. Though I didn't have you listed, I did keep reading) ;)
