So just on the outside chance that some of you are thoroughly disgusted with both the major parties and their candidates of choice, here's another option for you on election day. He's the Libertarian candidate (elected to that position just this weekend) and his name is Michael Badnarik.

I think he's worth a good look, even if only to get another perspective on our country and government.

He appears to have some interesting views... though in my opinion, some of them seem quite unrealistic (like claiming that by eliminating the Federal Reserve he will get rid of inflation) or flawed in logic (such as eliminating the need to make people register their guns because they're not required to register their religious beliefs).

*sigh*

I still don't know who among the current candidates would be the best to lead the country out of the hole that the current one has dug for us.

Yeah, the ideal situations Libertarian candidates hope for and espouse are often unrealistic, but only because of the situation that already exists.

It's a 'boy, that sure would be nice, shame it'll never happen' kind of thing.

Then of course, we could accuse ourselves of giving up too easily or being apathetic. Then we really lose when people with more money and clout get what they want because they're persistant - not because they're right.

PLEASE for GOD'S SAKE don't split the vote. We may not be alive for another 4yrs of Bush. I'm not crazy for Kerry either, but no one else could get the numbers at this point.

There are two arguments here. One is that those of us who don't like Bush should vote for Kerry (even if we don't like him), just to get Bush out - or to try, anyway.

The other argument is to push for a viable third party and/or vote for someone who most closely represents our (my) beliefs.

Both are good arguments, and we all just have to decide which we feel is more important.

We'll that's the way people felt about Nader too. And look what happened. Don't you think Bush is far more DANGEROUS than Kerry? Why take any chances?

I always vote libertarian, despite the fact that I live in Florida and therefore "threw away" my vote in 2000. Thanks for the plug!
