I'm setting up a business with my friend, Elizabeth. We are aflutter with excitement and nerves.

I imagine this as the stepping-off point on the journey towards having my own gift shop, stocked with beautiful things made by myself and my friends. This is my dream.

I'm looking very pointedly at some of you. Do you know who you are? :)

We're going to start at a juried show on November 10th.

Then - THE WORLD!

Yeah, you know who you are :)

We'll probably have to stick to your abstracts and your cupcakes and capps, though *grins* We're catering to "families" after all.

Hey, I think that pictures of Waxie in a leopard print body suit and thigh high, high heel boots would be perfect for some families.

Just... y'know... probably not midwestern ones ;)

I didn't have the guts to do it alone, you know.

Think about what you like to do, and once we get things going you can see if you want to toss your crafty goodness in with ours :)

I can't wait to see how well our things sell!

My NYC friends told me they know of a baby things shop in Soho where my aprons could sell for $35 a pop! O_o Holy frijoles!

I'm starting more modest here in the midwest, but I may send some samples to my friends to see what they can do. *so exciting*

I want to sell your soaps, you know... if you want to expand your market share :)

Good for you! I know you've mentioned the gift shop before. If this helps you get there then I am backing it 100%!

Sounds like a great idea. I've always entertained the idea of owning my own business...preferable a bookstore/coffee shop.

Best of luck!

That's awesome! I wish I had something to offer. However, I am decidedly uncrafty.

I had a friend who lived with his family in Alaska for a year. His mom collected moose droppings and turned them into mosquito-shaped Christmas tree ornaments. She called them "Moose-quitos". I hear they were quite popular.

That was totally random. Please excuse my need to share ridiculous, inane pieces of information only loosely related to what you were talking about.

I have a thing here for you. Because they cost $100, I can clearly NOT buy you one.... but I can send measurements and photos so you can MAKE one for Master Samuel.

Shouldn't cost too much. Its a baby sleeper, called babyok babe sleeper(google it, it's great)

He'll be needing it soon.

Hey, that's cool! Perfect timing, too, as I'm planning to transition Samuel from his co-sleeper in our bedroom to his crib upstairs.

He moves all over the bed at night and with winter coming, I need to know he'll stay covered.

I sort of got the gist of the thing at the website, but if you have more detailed pics, that would help. I'd love to make one. THANK YOU!
