Yes, yes I am.

I went over to Dave's for dinner tonight. He saved me from starvation and the further frustration of having to find something satisfying in my kitchen. It was also a good way to get me back here to work for another few hours to finish up what I couldn't get done this afternoon.

Well. I headed down to the ice box to find I had company. It was the same guy who's been in there off-and-on the past couple of days. . . the guy who's been keeping it so frigid. Well, he started talking to me, asking me questions about my micrographs (no, I really don't think you can bury any double entendres in that phrase, but feel free to try) and such. After a while, he came and sat down beside me and we started talking like (ohmygosh!) normal people! I did finagle a handshake - gotta check for any dead fish, you know - and was quite satisfied with the result of that. In fact, he held the handshake longer than I'm accustomed. I was a little taken aback - how long has it been since I've had one of *those* meetings?

*gasp*

He was a music major (saxophone) until an injury in his hand forced him to change his plans. Now he's a bio major. The music-to-bio-major transition happens more often than you might think, around here, actually :-)

It was cute. Steve opened the door and Adam (The Guy) very quickly moved back from where he'd been sitting near me. Ooo what fun!

I just may have to find an excuse to stop by the Strome/Saxton labs more often this summer.

At the very least, I need to see this guy under normal lighting conditions! LOL

I just closed my eyes and realized you are so right. Thank you, Andy.
