About the same way 9/11/01 felt to all of us - only these incidents aren't talked about and dwelled on as much. They just keep happening over and over again.
Actually, that day's events felt more distant to me than all these things going on in KSA. I know people who lost family on 9/11/01, but they weren't places and people I associate with home.
So even though the KSA attacks have directly affected no one I know personally - at least, not so far - they still touch me more. I still see the place as home and it holds so much of my memories and my identity.
It's hard to explain, and I'm not sure I understand it anyway.
